hello monday.

1. hello 14. miss ellie turned 14 on friday. that is right. fourteen. it is hard to believe. 14 years of loving on our big girl. and now she can start to learn to drive. holy smokes. we are hoping to get her learners permit in the next few weeks.

2. hello farm. we spent a some time this weekend at my parents house. and had a blast. we went on a four wheeler ride to find jake's red cow. then it started to rain and we got soaked. as maggie said "i am never going to forget this!" we did find jake's red cow.

3. hello nerts. we played several hands of nerts while we were at nana and papas. and ellie came out the winner. not sure how i feel about that.

4. hello baby abby. there are no pictures. but i was able to hold my cousin jill's baby girl, abby, for almost an hour on saturday night. my heart is full. love me some babies.

5. hello swim lessons. the kids are rocking swim lessons. even this morning when it was cold and windy they jumped right in and worked hard on their swim skills.

6. hello international grand convention. this week is young livings international grand convention. i am not going but i am excited to following along. typically YL launches new products during convention. last year it was like they read my mind with sunscreen and savvy minerals. excited to see what is new this year.

7. hello running. over the past three months i have been slowly. very slowly. working my way back into running. a couple babies and a couple injuries have really slowed downed my running over the past five years. i am excited to be getting in some good runs again.

happy monday.

hello monday.

1. hello summer. enough said. so excited for a summer home with my people. i love being home with them. don't get me wrong, there will be plenty of squabbles, mad momma moments, attitude, messes, and mom hiding in the closet sniffing stress away. but this mess is my mess. and these are the days. i plan to enjoy them.

2. hello nap time. one way i keep my sanity in the summer is a mandatory rest/nap time. everyone needs a little down time, even momma. from 1-4 we rest. currently jake and maggie are asleep. cece is quietly playing with slime and ellie is watching tv. sometimes i use rest time to do something quiet with the bigs and sometimes i take a nap.

3. hello summer activities. in the past two days we have started several summer activities. our june is a little busy, but july is pretty calm. i can handle that. i want my kids to have plenty of down time in the summer. i like it when we wake up with no plan and just go with it. those are fun days.

4. hello swim lessons. cece, maggie and jake all started swim lessons this morning. both girls were rock stars and jake wasn't so sure. he may or may not have cried the whole time. but he didn't leave his group, so i don't know what to think. we will see what the next few days bring.

5. hello summer soccer. our church soccer league started yesterday. cece and maggie are playing. ellie is helping coach. ellie actually jumped in and help coach four teams yesterday. girl has a heart of gold. and she loves to help out. except for that one moment where she was hangry. we got her some lunch, a drink and a little shade and she was good to go again.

6. hello potty training. over memorial day weekend jake decided to start using the potty. actually he used the potty for the first time at cascade falls on a very busy opening day at the pool. the next day we had a house full of family and he played in the pool all day. we went the whole day no accidents. the boy thrives in chaos. he has been going on the potty since. he is rocking it. the only accident he has had is when he can't get his pants down on his own. he is so darn proud of himself! so fun!

happy monday.
