Five for Friday

Well, I am glad I was able to get a Wordless Wednesday post up....otherwise it would have been a whole week and no blogging. eek...that would be terrible:) So here we go with Five for Friday.

1. Wednesday Cece informed me it was 12 days til her birthday! She was excited and I went Oh Crap! It freaked me out a bit....see I have plans for the party but there hasn't been a whole lotta action. So yesterday after school we got a start on that and I realized she was off....her birthday was actually 10 days instead of 12 days away so 8 days from today! (sorry that is a lot of math/numbers for a Friday!)

2. The girls have this super idea to have a slumber party tonight. They want to sleep in the living room. I am gonna roll with it and turn it into a fun movie night. I need a lazy night and it should be super fun!

3. Drop off line at Ellie's school has been super crazy lately due to the cold and snow. So if we leave our house at our "normal" time we were sitting in the drop off line for a solid 20 minutes (to go less than a mile...it's crazy...) I was barely getting Ellie to school on time which made me about 10 minutes late.So we decided to start leaving our house 10 minutes earlier, which causes me to drop off Ellie 20 minutes earlier and me get to school 20 minutes early. The time doesn't seem to add up right does it. So I might have to get up a little earlier, but it is way better than a stressful drop off. Now that I have all this extra time I have decided I could stop at Caseys for a donut and hot cocoa. So Thursday I stopped. I picked out a raspberry flip and a hot cocoa and was waiting patiently in line while the guy ahead of me paid...dreaming of enjoying my raspberry flip. Then the guy in front of me steps back suddenly which startles me and causes me to drop my hot cocoa. Needless to say cocoa everywhere! I even got a little on the guys cuff of his pants. I felt so bad. He said "no big deal...life goes on! Don't worry about it." The checkout guy just laughs and says "it's early. it happens!" took my empty cup and told me to get a new one. The other clerk is just worried I burnt myself. I couldn't believe it.....I made a huge mess of their store and they were nothing but nice to me. I was in complete awe of their niceness. Moral of the story....be nice to others!!

4. I have been crafty exactly two times in the last two months. Quite the dry spell for me. So yesterday I really enjoyed stopping at the scrapbook store with my two favorite crafters to work on some decorations for Cece's party.

5. So I totally want to paint my house. I have the urge to go buy paint. But once I get it home I am pretty sure I will run out of energy to do the painting. So for now I keeping dreaming......

This home tour made me really want to add some color to our house.
I would love to put these stripes on our living room wall.  But I would like them to be yellow kind of like these lovely yellow stripes.
And this rug well I just plain love it.

So there you have it! Happy Friday ya'll!!

Five for Friday

1. My oldest has a serious love for all things snow. Do you think it is because we deprived her of snow for three years and our first winter back in Iowa was one of the snowiest on record? Hmmmm something to ponder. She is outside working on her fort right now! She asked her sister if she wanted to go out...but sissy said we could just watch cartoons?

2.I was snuggling with Cece the other night and thought I definitely want to remember this. The way she whispers to herself when she is falling asleep. How soft and smooth her fingers are. How she shares just a bit of her blanky with you to make you feel better. The way she laughs with her whole body and you just can't help but laugh too. I love every bit of her three year old self.

3. I currently have a major love for Peanut Butter. Peanut Butter toast and Peanut Butter sandwiches make me very happy! Hawaiian Pizza is also on my list of current loves. hmmmm.

4. Not to brag.............but we have two amazing little girls. AND apparently we aren't the only ones who think that. Last Sunday after church we went along with Tim to work for treatments and lunch at Hickory Park. When we sat down the girls sat on one side of the booth and we sat on the other. We laughed that this might not end well. However, they totally rocked it. They sat still, shared food, didn't bug each other and well just behaved very very well. When the family across the aisle from us got up to leave the father handed Ellie and Cece each a dollar bill for being so good! He said someone did that for his girls when they were little and he always thought that was so cool and wanted to do it for our girls. Ellie and Cece were pretty proud of themselves and Tim and I were WAY proud of them too! It is really neat to have someone 'pat you on the back' like that. Definitely need to do that for others down the road!

5. Today we had an assembly at school to donate the money the students raised during our Winter Olympics before Christmas break. Our goal was $500 in 4 days.We smashed our goal and raised $1325! It was amazing watching those kids get so excited about giving to others in need in our community. We donated the money to a local charity....the director was so overwhelmed by the amount of money she could only mutter "that is more than I ever could have imagined" Needless to say I teared up! Very proud of my students!

A little bit of Craftiness

....by a little bit I really mean a little bit. So if you came here looking for some big craft sorry...this isn't the post you are looking for. However, if you came here for a simple little craft this is the post for ya. This past weekend I worked up enough energy to do a little something. I just haven't had energy for crafts lately...I have plenty of good excuses I promise. So without further adieu here are the crafts I have for you (cheesy yes I know)

The shelf in our living room needed a little January update.

So I put together this little "Hooray" Garland. I used the stamping kit Santa brought Ellie for Christmas (isn't that Santa one smart fella!).

Wrapped the glass vase with a doily and some twine.

Then when I went to pick out our 2012 calendar I couldn't find one I liked in the regular size so I picked out a littler one. Upside I really like the calendar. Down side it kind of messed up the whole wall. Second upside I got to re decorate the wall. Click {here}to see what it looked like before. Ta da....totally new look.

So there it is my little bit of craftiness. Hope you enjoyed it:)

Wordless Wednesday: SNOOOOW!!

FINALLY!! There are two very happy girls at our house!

Cece was not so happy when she realized Ellie had scooped off her snow angel....
she rebounded and decided to hit Ellie with her shovel....it was rather comical. I just sat back and let them problem solve :)

Ellie is asking Cece if she is eating the snow for their fort...Cece says "Nope....I am licking it!!"

Photo Friday: Take 12

So this year I am accepting the Ella Publishing Take Twelve 2012 Photography Challenge. Bascially you just take 12 photos in one day (or so) of you normal daily life and post them around the 12th of each month. Their "rules" are very flexible, which works well for me. Enjoy our twelve.

#1 Sleeping Ellie.

#2 Breakfast time...girls are big into yogurt right now.

#3 Ellie's pile. Our new routine is for the girls to come down and before breakfast pile up all their stuff. Coat, hat, gloves, boots, whatever they will need. It really helps cut down on the last minute freak outs.

#4 My view a school. Grading, grading and more grading.

#5 Wii Time

#6 A little garland I hope to get put together some time soonish.

#7 Quick shopping trip.I recently found out my girls LOVE ramen noodles. White Grape Juice is the bomb (thanks for the reminder Jill!). Cheese puffs=no brainer. There are some strawberries buried in there...trust me!

#8 Cece likes cheesy puffs!

#9 Me in my new coat. Love it!!

#10....see that little innocent looking door? well it bangs and bangs and bangs in the wind. a smart person would turn the house around.......working on that........

#11 Ellie was VERY excited for some snow!

#12 Big ole bowl of fetticine alfredo. Cece and decided we could eat it everyday. It was sooooo yummy!

TGIF! Looking forward to a three day weekend!! Take care my friends!
