oh 2014 you were a good one!

winter brought snow play, volleyball for ellie jo, cece turning six, and a silly magpie.

spring ushered in maggie falling in love with minnie, lots of soccer games, bubbles and bikes, easter egg hunting and just being outside.

in summer ellie turned 10 and maggie turned 2, the corn grew and grew, a trip the zoo, ice cream, the pool, some fishing, and a big announcement.

fall brought back to school, a toothless grin, softball, leaves, another zoo trip, and a growing baby boy belly.

and just for fun a few baby belly collages.

2014 was good.

but we can't wait to see what 2015 will bring.

happy new year!

christmas 2014

we had a great christmas.

not going to lie there may have been hopes for a christmas baby. i mean how fun would that be?!?! but it didn't happen. and we are trying real hard to be patient. though maybe not doing so good at that.

anywho. back to christmas.

it was good

here are a few christmas memories....

1. we visited santa and there was no tears. there also was no sitting on santas lap for maggie, but that is a-ok with me.

2. we had a baking day. it was so fun. we baked up a number of yummy treats that we were able to share with our family and friends.

3. christmas eve candlelight service. always one of my favorite parts of christmas. so amazing to celebrate the greatest gift ever given. silent night by candlelight is just so....perfect. i didn't get any pictures. but trust me it was good. and the girls were all about the candles. cece held hers with a purpose. at one point she whispered to me "my hand is sweating" candle holding is serious business. ellie shared her candle with maggie. maggie enjoyed holding it and was oh so tempted to touch the flame. she also sang a little happy birthday to jesus. it was sweet.

4. this picture. i just love it. honestly we did not plan this. we just all made the same funny face. cracks me up. also if you flash back to last christmas miss maggie's expression screamed "help me" this year....well....she is one of us now. lets leave it at that.

5. opening gifts with the girls. they had a great christmas and received so many gifts that they love. i love how they truly appreciate their gifts even the simple ones. and they do a pretty darn good job sharing.

6. family gatherings. we were able to see so many family members. great memories were made.

it was a good christmas.

so good.

38 weeks

so here we are 38 weeks.

any day now we could meet our little guy.

i wake up every morning and wonder is today the day?

i had a check up this morning. i am now 3 cm dilated. it is getting close.

hopefully soon.

we are ready.

i am pretty sure i said we were ready last week. and we were.

we are more ready now.

i have been able to finish up some things for his room. i have washed more baby items. the carseat is ready to go. he has a quilt. i made a run to sams club and we are all stocked up on food and toilet paper.

ready.

i have been feeling pretty good. but i am really starting to feel just done. the nausea and upset stomach wears on me. it doesn't happen all the time but when it does. ugh. i have been able to relax and get in some good naps. which are all good.

i do feel a bit like a ticking time bomb.

soon very soon we will get to meet you brother. until then we wait {somewhat} patiently.

a maggie update

maggie

nicknames: mags, magpie, mag-na, maggie mouse, miss maggie.

likes: frozen, let it go, playing kitchen, taking care of her babies, bubble guppies, making art, helping in the mommy and daddy in the kitchen.

obsession: minnie mouse.

and this christmas she received plenty of minnie stuff to keep the love going. minnie socks, minnie shirt, minnie pjs, minnie pom poms, minnie mouse house, etc. she is one happy minnie loving girl.

favorite foods: beef sticks, cheese sticks, danimals, banana bread, butter, scrambled eggs, carrots, strawberries, olives, apple juice.

sleep: still sleeping great in her crib and we will keep it that way as long as it still works. she does great at naptime and bedtime. at daycare she is napping on a nap mat on the floor.

potty training: is somewhat interested and showing signs many signs that she is physically ready--holding her potty and using the toilet. but she just doesn't seem mentally and emotionally ready. she will go potty on the toilet and her cheerleaders go crazy and she does not want to talk about it. i think when she is ready it will happen very quickly for her.

paci: she still uses a paci. however, she breaks them by biting them. we have never had that happen before. we keep telling her once they are all broken they will be all gone. we will see....there may be a moment of weakness once brother comes along :)

daycare: she loves going to daycare with her daycare friends. honestly it makes my heart so happy. she is so happy and has so much fun there. such a relief to a working momma. at drop off she tells me bye and is ready to go play. occasionally she will peek back at me like mommy get out of here! she always greets me with a hug when i pick her up.

talking: maggie is talking like crazy. most of the time we can figure out what she is saying. sometimes she is very dramatic and we have no clue.

some of my favorite maggie-isms are.....
"me don't know"
"me ok guys"
"my daddy"---she always refers to tim as "my daddy" the big girls try to explain to her that he is their daddy too....
"this make you happy"
"oooo-kaaaay"
"baby bruder"
"oove you"
"your coffee ready mommy"

random: mags is a lefty.

merry christmas

"For a child was born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

the greatest gift ever given.

oh what a wonderful gift.

and all we have to do is open our hearts and let him in.

merry christmas from our family to yours.

merry christmas y'all.
