i haven't wrote about it much
she started school quiet and shy and a bit lacking confidence.
but she is and always has been a hard worker.
reading was tough for her, but math oh she has always loved math.
it has been a challenge for us as parents to know when to push her and know when to let her be.
we have always known she had the ability.
we knew we just needed to give her time.
we knew on her own time she would blossom.
in this day of testing and standards it is hard to just let it be.
but we knew pushing too much would not help her.
over the last few years, it slowly started to happen.
last year she made huge strides and you could just see it happening.
her skills were improving, her love for learning growing, and her confidence improving.
and this year.
wow.
it's been a great year for her.
she loves using her chromebook to complete her homework and often puts in extra effort.
she does not procrastinate. she wants her projects done right away. working for hours in one night to get them done.
she was recently elected to student council.
she takes safety patrol very seriously.
she has become more and more responsible. and she keeps track of the time in the morning and makes sure cece and her are to the bus stop in plenty of time.
she started playing the flute. she practices without being asked.
she was given a special part in her music concert and is excited about it.
she is working hard in math and science and social studies.
she has started to find books she enjoys and wants to read.
her teacher told me at conferences if she could have a whole class of ellies she would be one happy teacher. being a teacher i know how big of a compliment that is.
her teacher also told us that ellie works well with anyone in the class and is always offering to help others.
we are so very very very proud of her.
we always knew it was there.
watching her blossom has been amazing.
we know school will always be a challenge for her but if she keeps working hard she will be able to do anything she puts her heart into.
miss ellie. we are so proud of you. we know you can do anything you set your mind to. keep working hard. we love you so.
