Last week I whipped a batch of {PW's easy calzones}. The recipe made more filling than we needed, so I froze and we are going to have calzones again this week. They were a huge hit!!

Friday: We are headed up north to the Nosbisch Benefit

This morning Cece told me she did not want to go to preschool.

This was the first time she had said that.....I was surprised.

I asked her why?

She said because she was scared Hurricane Sandy would hit her school.

I tried to explained that Hurricane Sandy is a long ways from our house and her school. That we are safe.

She was adamant that it was going to hit her school.

Later, as we were watching the news the reporter said "Hurricane Sandy is expected blast the Northeast!"

Cece exclaims "See Mom!!! It's going to hit my school!"

Cece's preschool happens be called.....Northeast.

Cece painted a picture of Hurricane Sandy.

so yesterday when I mentioned the "few pictures" incident I wasn't joking. Picking pictures is soooooooooo hard for me. It is hard because I love photographs of my family....the good ones, the great ones, and even the bad ones. I hardly go a day without pulling the camera out and snapping a few. It is just a part of me. Anyhoo....I thought I would share some of Cece's "few pictures" with you today. Enjoy a little stroll down memory lane!

hello monday and a meal plan

hello monday....i am not going to lie. i did not want to go to school today. i handled the first few days back pretty well. but today. not so much.  but then i got some news about a family member who is losing her battle with cancer and it was a kick in the butt. each day is a gift. each day. i don't have days to waste being grumpy...so i made the most of it. can't say it was the best day ever, but my attitude was better. and then i came home and cuddled my sweet baby girl.

hello weekend. our weekend was good. here is what happened.....

ellie played in her final soccer game. she scored a goal! played goalie for 2 quarters and did not give up a goal! way to go jo!

cece is the super bee this week at preschool. we spent saturday and sunday getting her poster ready and gathering pictures. it said to bring a few pictures. how many do you think a few is? we started with 63 and were able to whittle it down to around 25. there are a few things i am bad at...picking a few pictures is definitely one of them!

maggie spent saturday and sunday trying to suck her thumb. its slobbery business but she is getting pretty good at it. however, mommy would prefer she just take her paci.

tim aerated and fertilized the yard!!!

i am sitting here puzzled trying to remember what i did this weekend......oh i organized coats, shoes, hats and mittens. and did some cleaning. it is a glamorous life i lead.

we all got family pictures taken. excited to see them!

Five for Friday

1. Right now I am listening to the girls sing "Skin and Bones." Yesterday I tried to sing it to them but couldn't quite get the words right. So today I turned to the best source of info....google. I sang it to them and totally spooked them!!

Skin And Bones There was an old woman all skin and bones, O-o-o-o!
She lived down by the old graveyard -o-o-o!
One night she thought she'd take a walk, -o-o-o!
She walked down by the old graveyard, o-o-o!
She saw the bones a-layin around, O-o-o-o!
She thought she'd sweep the old church house, O-o-o-o!
She went to the closet to get a broom, O-o-o-o!
She opened the door and BOO!


2. Maggie is now 10 weeks old. We went yesterday for a weight check. She is up to 9 lbs 8 ozs. We are currently in Operation FUM (fatten up Maggie). She is taking her bottles great at daycare and I am letting her nurse as much as she wants.

3. I mean she is going to have to gain a little weight if she is going play basketball at Iowa State. And we aren't just dreaming big here....we already have the scholarship offer all wrapped up.........

that is right! Coach saw real potential in Maggie right from the start! Watch out Big 12 Maggie is coming!

4. It's Friday Night Movie Night at our house. Madagascar 3 is on the screen tonight. Girls are excited!

5. She is just too cute....I have to share!

Wordless Wednesday...plus a little something extra

Last night was absolutely gorgeous. One of the those fall evenings that make you wish fall lasted all year. Ellie had soccer practice, so I thought I would take my camera along. I easily took over a hundred pictures and got more than a few good ones....enjoy!

Oh...the little something extra.

Well, today after school we had to stop at the grocery store to pick up some apples and bananas (I think there is a song in there somewhere). It was going to be a quick trip so I asked Ellie to stay in the car with Maggie and asked Cece what she wanted to do. She said "she would do whatever I wanted her to." I told her to sit in the car and make monkey noises. She gave me the stink eye. Then she said "I wanted you to say that I needed to go with you.....it wouldn't be fair for you to go in by yourself."

Melted my heart. It feels good to be loved.

Needless to say she came with me and somehow she was able to fannaggle (is that even a word??) peanut butter cups as a treat. oh my. that girl.

A Before and After

Remember a few months ago before little Miss Maggie came along, when I took you on a tour of ourhome showing you all the ways we made room for little sister?

You do?

Well....good for you! (I barely remember it myself!)

Then you remember this post where I showed you the computer desk that came to the rescue and solved our problem of trying to figure out where in our house to put the computer. And you probably remember how it needed a little TLC.

You do?

Well...maybe you need just a little reminding....

She had good bones and lots of potential!

Well folks I am here to tell you....that little computer desk got some TLC in the form of a little sanding and three coats of green paint.

Here she is after the first coat....better already!!

And look at her now! Isn't she lovely!

It still amazes me what a good coat of paint can do! Now I just need to find the right knobs and she well be perfecto!
