meal planning monday....on tuesday and some other ramblings...

we are trying to get back in the swing of things.....so you will have to bear with us....

Week of Monday November 28th

Monday: We had Italian Dunker

Tuesday: We had Chicken Salsa....so easy and so yummy!

Wednesday: Lasagna Soup

Thursday: Roast, Carrots, and Potatoes

Friday: Breakfast Pizza

Ramblings
1. Ellie's half birthday is coming up in about 10 days. She talks about it NON STOP! Half birthdays are a pretty big deal when you have a summer birthday. Tonight she was looking through her half birthday cards from first grade. She was showing me a card and said "those (pink and blue) were my favorite colors back then." Back then.....like sooooo long ago...a whole year! Geez Ellie!

2. We are slowly but surely getting all of our Christmas decorations up...I had a hard time getting in the mood. Of course I have decided we need to add a few things to our decor....we will see if we get all these projects completed:)

3. A week ago I was very overwhelmed by the fact I had no Christmas shopping done. I picked up a couple black Friday deals online and dropped the girls off and Em's for a quick shopping trip on Sunday and suddenly I am feeling a whole lot better.

4. I have a student that needs a lot of prayers....she is facing the possibility of a very scary diagnosis. My heart is heavy for her and her family. Puts everything is perspective!

5. We do have a lot to be thankful for....my Grandma C fell a week ago and is doing much better. And GG got some great news yesterday and does not have to undergo surgery. God is awesome!!

goodbye Grandma

This past week we said our goodbyes to my Grandma. It is not easy to say goodbye to your Grandma, the only comfort is knowing she is finally home with her Lord and Savior. No more human concerns, lost jewelry, trouble breathing or thickened food, she is dancing fancy free in heaven now...what an amazing gift.

Grandma passed away Sunday November 20th peacefully in her sleep. Ellie, Cecilia and I went with my Mom and Emily to visit her on Saturday. Her spirits were good and she was having a good day. When we were getting ready to leave she made sure to tell us "thank you for coming to see me!" Ellie and Cecilia gave her hugs and kisses and told her they loved her. I said my I love yous and gave her a hug and kiss as well. And the last thing she said to me was "I love you!" I am so thankful we went to visit her, I will cherish that final visit forever.

We love you and we will miss you Grandma!

and worth far more than diamonds.

a day in the life.....

our days seem so filled right now....I am sure in a few years we will look back at these days and think they were so simple and easy (isn't that the way it goes). I am always working to make sure our days are filled up with the right kind of stuff....ya know...hugs and kisses, time together, lots of love...each day is a blessing and I want to live it like that.
5:00 am Alarm goes off. I snooze and try to enjoy a few more minutes of sleep.
5:07am I get up. Time to run/workout.
6:00 am Shower, Get Ready, Devotional while I blow dry my hair
6:30 am start waking Ellie and Cecilia up. ahem. wake Tim up:)
6:55 am brush and style two beautiful blondies
7:00 am Breakfast Time, pack lunches, round up anything necessary for school.
7:20 am one last potty break, shoes, coats, bags....
7:30 am out the door!
7:40 am  Drop off Cecilia Kate.
7:45 am Tim out the door (unless he has to go earlier)
7:45 am Drop off Ellie Jo...a good distance from school so she can walk to school with Landon. No she still will be seen with me....the just love to walk!
7:55 am Get to School, check email, get settled in for the morning.
8:30 am 6th Graders...enough said.
10:51 am Lunch/Planning Time. Yes I eat lunch at 10:51. By this time I am usually so hungry.
12:25 pm Lunch Duty. I have the honor of watching sixth graders eat lunch and monitoring them during our after lunch walking club.
1:00 pm 7th graders...again enough said:)
3:21 pm Plan time...unwind from the day.
3:55 pm Time to go home.
4:00 pm Best time of the day...picking up the girls! I love it every single day!
4:05 pm pile in the car and call Tim just to see how his day is going.
4:15 pm Get home! Mandatory hugs and kisses for Mommy, change clothes, have a snack, get started on homework, figure out the dinner plan, blog, play with girls, crafty time,  blog hop.....
5:30 pm Start Dinner
6:00 pm Eat Dinner...typically we wait for Daddy to eat dinner but during the season he is getting home too late for girls to wait...so unfortunately we have to eat without him.
7:00 pm Baths, Books, TV, games...wait for Daddy
7:00-8:00 pm Daddy gets home!! Ties for the best time of the day! Daddy eats dinner
8:00-8:30 pm Bed Time...another favorite time of the day....I love cuddling with my girls.
8:30 pm Lights out for Girls
9:00 pm TV Time on the couch for Tim and I sometimes we fall asleep...and wake up at 3 in the morning. What can we say...we are tired:)
10:00-11:00 pm Bed Time

phew...it makes me tired just thinking about it!

72. youth sports activities offered at our church
73. Chiclets gum. My grandpa passed away when I was 7. I know he was a wonderful grandpa, that he loved me lots and that I loved him. However, I have very few memories of him. I do remember a grocery trip I took with him to Jensen's grocery store in our home town. I was probably 4 or 5 at the time.  He let me pick out a pack of Chiclets gum. Every time I see Chiclets gum, I am reminded of him. The smell, the taste, the package take me back to that shopping trip with my Grandpa. I treasure that memory.

around the house......

howdy folks.....here are a few of the happenings at our house this weekend.....
when I bought the broccoli I am certain it didn't look like that....must be a rabbit hiding in my fridge...or a Cece....

I worked a few crafty things this weekend.

we added to our Thankful tree

the girls convinced me that we needed this little trash can at the dollar store.....they said it was going in the basement/playroom...but Cece thinks it looks perfect next to my big trash can....I am not sold on this one....
look what I found on the basement stairs......someone can write her name...

Ellie worked hard making some friendship bracelets.

that is what we were up to this weekend....how about you???

66. Finding some jeans to fit my bean pole, Ellie Jo. She just keeps getting taller and taller. Jeans are a challenge...finding some that fit at the waist but are long enough...phew. But we did it. She should be good for awhile! Also, thankful for her cooperation while trying on some 12 pairs of jeans!
67. leftover Halloween candy....during our shopping trip I pulled out some skittles for the girls. I guess that is enough to be the "Best Mom in the World!" according to Ellie Jo.

I am blessed to have such an amazing sister.

Tuesday: Chili

Wednesday: Potato Soup

Thursday: Mac n Cheese Cups and Brats

Ramblings
1. I am feeling a little ho hum today. We had a fun filled weekend but Tim was gone on his first road trip of the season. Sometimes when he is gone I get a little down. I miss him, the girls miss him, we all miss him. I guess that means we like him a lot and are not quite the same when he is not here. I try not to let his traveling schedule get to me, but sometimes it does. So sometimes I throw my own little pity party and down a few handfuls of chocolate chips and say poor me. Then some giggling girl comes in and needs my attention and I  snap out of it. Sometimes it is hard though. It does get better....the first road trip is always an adjustment. Don't get me wrong we do have our fun when Daddy is gone. Ellie's favorite part is getting to sleep with me. It is part of our life and I am okay with that....just sometimes ya know.

2. Tim was in Boston over the weekend. He saw Fenway Park, MIT and ate lunch on the Harvard campus. He also freaked me out a bit by walking late in the evening to get a bite to eat by himself. I told him to text me when he got back to the hotel and of course he forgot. Ellie is wondering if he will come home with a Boston accent....we will see!

3. Today when I was throwing my pity party and eating a few chocolate chips I noticed the package said "all natural" I guess that means I should eat chocolate chips more often....right?

4. I ordered some new pictures and I pondering what to do. Do I replace the old ones and just put up the new pictures? Or do ya just add to what you already have? Typically I just add to what I have, but that would mean adding about 9 new pictures to the already there 23....would that be excessive? I don't know. Hmmmm....these are big questions, I know!

5. We had our annual Thanksgiving Tailgate...the family was great, the Cyclone win was fun, and the food well it was A-MA-ZING! I totally got my fill of carbs....potatoes, squash and corn oh my! And the turkey...well it was just plain awesome. Definitely good eats!

6. Ellie now does all our ordering at the Fareway meat counter. She is careful not to hurt herself, it can be very dangerous you know:)
