that is 18 days of school (13 before christmas break and 5 after).
not that i am counting or anything.
with 6 weeks to go i thought i would share 6 baby things on my mind.
#1 i have been thinking, considering, pondering carseat arrangements for my van. trying to come up with the best possible carseat placement. i am mostly trying to avoid me running from one side of the van to the other and a runaway toddler. not that we have a runaway problem. but when brother arrives on the scene who knows what can happen. my current idea is to move maggie to the back seat (third row) with cece. she has been wanting to move back there anyway to be by the big girls. we would put brother in the middle row passenger side seat. and stow away the middle row drivers side seat. this way we can all climb in the van while i work to get everyone buckled in safely. we will see what we end up with.
#2 brothers room. he has a room. a boy's room. the walls are no longer pink. they are now the perfect shade of gray. he has a crib and a mattress. both of which have been approved by miss maggie. of course she had to try them out. the lilac color paint on the changing table has been covered up with some dark gray. he even has a couple pacis on his shelf. the girls thought pacis were necessary. not sure where they got that idea from ;) he has freshly washed clothes in his closet. diapers. wipes. burp clothes. he does need some socks. kind of forgot about socks. whoops. we are getting ready for him. that is for sure.
#3 a student asked me yesterday if i was nervous to have my baby. he said he would be. i told them i wasn't. and you know what i am actually not nervous for that part. not that i am ready to give birth right this minute. but i feel very good in that department. i know pretty much what to expect and i know i have a pretty awesome supporter. we can do this. each birth has been so special. i am sure brothers will be the same.
on the subject of questions from students--trust me they will ask just about anything. another student asked me today what would happen if my water broke in class and i fell over and went into labor. i told them that it probably wouldn't happen like that.
and a few weeks back another student asked when i was going to start wearing maternity clothes. i told him that i was wearing maternity clothes. his response was "oh." i am not sure what he expected maternity clothes to be.
#4 i am trying to compile a list of things i will need after baby comes along. you know nursing bras, pajama pants, nursing supplies, a new sweatshirt or two. i thought this t-shirt would probably be a good pick up and will basically describe the situation well.
#5 i have a feeling with baby brother coming. we will watch plenty of tv and movies to get us through these cooped up winter months with momma nursing a baby. it makes me wonder how much is too much and should i even feel one bit bad about that. i don't think so. i am pretty sure making it through those first few months is all that matters. right? please tell me i am right!
#6 and finally. the diaper situation. i have changed my fair share of diapers. however. i have changed very few....ahem....boy diapers. i have a feeling this will be a different experience. i think i may need to get some of these to help with that. i am sure there will be some pee going somewhere its not supposed to.
oh boy.

1. You look wonderful!!!
ReplyDelete2. Plan to climb into the van for all buckling and arranging. I've been doing it for 3 years.
3. Don't EVER feel bad for surviving the first few months and what else is there to do than snuggle and watch movies?
4. The pee pee teepees don't work too well. In my experience Kallie actually peed on me more than Grant did. AND, changing boy diapers is actually easier...less cracks and crevices. :)
