and more random.

1. honestly it seems like all i can do on this here blog lately is throw together a random hodge podge blog post. it's better than nothing right? well, i sure hope y'all like random.

2. i am home today with miss maggie. she ran a fever yesterday that lasted about 18 hours and she woke up this morning just fine. as a precaution i did take her to walk-ins at our pediatrics office. ears were clear, throat was clear, she is all good. in my earlier parenting days i would have left the doctors office feeling silly for taking her in for nothing. but not these days. the relief of an all clear (especially when your husband is in the midst of travel season) always makes me feel better. i can snuggle a little one at home without having to worry that an ear infection or something else is lurking. and i did have reason to worry. last week cece wasn't feeling the best. i made an appointment just to be sure. i thought she probably just had a virus. well she ended up having croup. see you just never know with these kiddos. everyone seems to be on the upswing and lets pray it stays that way.

3. we celebrated nana's birthday last weekend.

we had one heck of a great saturday. we started off with a nice breakfast of eggs and toast. then off to ellie's basketball game. we hit dunkin donuts after the game for a nice snack of donuts and coffee. we all piled in em's van and headed to junk jubilee. after that we had a late lunch of some yummy mexican. we came home and watched elf. then all the kiddos headed outside for some snow play. while nana, em and i weren't particularly hungry the kids and tim and noah (who had missed out on the mexican lunch) were. so we ordered up some pizza. and finished the night with chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate-caramel ice cream.

it was a good day.

4. as i mentioned we hit up the junk jubilee. it was so busy. and by busy i mean BUSY! it was so crowded you could hardly move. after being there just a few minutes i was ready to go home. we toughed it out and it seemed to get less crowded OR we just got used to it. i am not sure. maggie is not a crowd person. at one point she looked at me and said "get me out of here!" poor girl. despite being overwhelmed she did pretty darn good.....i did bribe her a bit by having her hunt for minnie mouse. when we told her we were going home, she started hugging gabe exclaiming "we get to go home!"

the big girls on the other hand had a great time. they really are starting to get into the junk. ellie was big into looking at jewelry while cece loved the vintage ornaments. with the crowd it was hard to see everything. i was able to pick up a few neat things.

when cece saw this santa she said "oh mom look at the santa!"

the price tag said $8 and the vendor immediately said she would just take $5. we were sold. i am certain either my mom or one of my grandma's had this during my childhood. i think it is just so cute and will make a fun addition to our christmas decor. and cece loved it so i was sold.

5. speaking of christmas...we have held out and not put our decorations up yet. however, we have have a pre-baby carpet cleaning this coming weekend---which i am totally geeked about. after that who knows how much longer we will wait. i also have quite of bit of christmas shopping done. ready to relax and enjoy the holiday season.

6. we are full on, hard core into tim's travel season. and we will survive. we will.

7. even with tim traveling we have been able to cross several items off our big-ole-need-to-get- completed-before-brother-comes to do list. his room has been painted, changing table has received a coat of paint (it needs a couple more), his closet is all cleaned out and ready for his clothes to go in. it is all coming together.

8. our meal plan for the week. it's wednesday so why not. ha

monday: we had tacos

tuesday: loaded baked potato soup
*it was yummy and there was enough leftover for another meal

wednesday: maidrites

thursday: potato soup round two with cheddar biscuits

friday: pizza

well that is all i have.

happy wednesday y'all.
