1. tonight is the last day of wrestling season and tomorrow we begin the off season. yay! it has been a long season defnitely not the easiest. but it never is. honestly i don't think it will ever be easy. the season means long days and lots of traveling...in the last three months tim has tallied 35+ days of travel. that means we have spent 35 days and nights without him. with several 4-5 day road trips. it just gets hard. and while we are lucky this isn't our life all year....we just miss tim when he is not here. period. that is it...we like him around. there were some things we did different this season the really helped....i will blog more about that later. right now we are just excited to be entering the off season!
2. it has been an emotional end to the season. we have been praying for the gadson family for a while now. it is just so sad to watch someone say goodbye to a parent at such a young age. it just shouldn't be that way. kyven wore his dad's robe before his matches. this is a picture of the robe hanging on the chair during his match....and look...there is tim! gadson and two other cyclones ended the season as all americans. go cyclones!
3. the cyclones are having a good weekend. i sure hope it keeps going. the womens bball team won today and the mens bball team got a awesome win over notre dame friday. the men play tomorrow at ll:15am. this means we will have to go to the early service at church...which has been unoffically been renamed the "cyclone service" and we will just have to wear our cardinal and gold....right? yikes! march madness!
4. girls and i played apples to apples tonight. it was just a little sampleish type that comes in a kids meal. it was so fun! we totally need to get that game!
5. and i have been thinking about this verse all day.
"pour yourselves out for each other in acts of love" ephesians 4:3
this is what God wants us to do. to love. and love some more. He poured out his love for us through Jesus's death. my goal is the spend my week pouring out love...for my family, my children, my friends, the people i hold nearest and dearest. love communicates so much.
i want my three little ladies to know how much i love them.
but i don't just want them to know it i want them to feel it too. and i want that love to influence them to love the Lord. to love each other. to love others.
a few weeks back this {post} hit home with me. there were many things to take away from that well written post...but what struck me is that i want to love my children well. so i am working on that.
and then this verse today. double whammy.
i am going to pour out my love on my children...my husband...others...children learn through modeling. they need to see this love. they need to see me loving others.
so i won't stop just with my family i want to go beyond that...i want to pour out love to others coworkers, my students, acquaintances, a stranger in the store...what does that look like...a smile. a hello. a how do you do. please and thank you. maybe it will be through a random act of kindness.
just know i am going to be pouring out the love.
first up....just wanted all my faithful blog readers (all like four of you) to know how much i love and appreciate you all! :)
so that is where i am at....pouring out love and in the off season and cheering for the cyclones:) quite the random post! yeow.
