but first....the last day of school.
ellie and my last day of school were a bit more eventful.
at 2:45 (just 10 minutes before the elementarys were set to dismiss for the summer) the sirens sounded due to an approaching severe storm with the potential for strong winds. this sent all the schools into a severe weather lockdown--like a tornado drill but for real. students were in safe zones.
we stayed in lockdown for the next 45 minutes.
during this time i was not able to get ahold of my daycare provider which made me a little nervous....i was worried cece was freaking out. she had headed to the school early to pick up the kiddos and was also lockdown in the school with cece and maggie. cece had no idea what was going on. thank you Jesus.
ellie was in the boys bathroom at her school with a class of fifth graders. i hear it got hot and stinky! yikes. her teacher sent an email today telling us how proud she was of the way her class behaved during the lockdown! i did not have a class during the lockdown but i moved around monitoring students was so impressed by how our students handled the situation during the last hour on the last day of school.
very thankful to be safe and sound. very thankful.
and last years last day of school pictures {here}
happy summer!!!
