word of the year

i love the idea of choosing one word to focus on all year.

it can be any word. it can be a word that applies to one area of your life or it can be a word that applies to all aspects of your life. it can be something you want to add or something you want to take away. your options are really endless. yet because you are just picking a word it simplifies things. that is the cool part.

i have never officially (and by officially i mean wrote about it on this here blog) before. however last year my word was embrace.

i wanted to embrace our life.

sometimes life gets so hectic and crazy. trying to get from here to there. the days are moving by so quickly. there are good days and really stinky bad ones. and things aren't perfect. dreams you hope to come true.

i wanted to put all that aside and just embrace our life. for all it is and for all it is not.

it was so incredibly freeing.


so for this year. i wanted to do it again. i thought and prayed and listened.


still.


the word for this year is still.

i need to be still. i want to be still.

i want to soak it all in. i want to watch my girls grow. i want to be present with my family. laugh with them. play with them. listen to them. spend time with them.

i want to feel God's presence. i want to hear Him. i want to see Him working in my life. i want to glorify Him. i want to live out His plan for me, for my family.

i want to be still.

i am excited to see how this word plays out in my life, in our life over the next year.

ohhh its gonna be good. i just know it.
