so....we have a big ole project going on at our house.
something we have been planning, hoping, dreaming about for years.
we are finishing our basement. on our own.
yes you read that right, on our own....with the help of some family and friends.
the decision to do it on our own was part a challenge to ourselves, part money savings, and let's face it part crazy.
the good crazy.
we have a pretty simple plan.
here is a picture i drew of our basement. its pretty high quality and totally not to scale:)
we are finishing the largest space to create a family room to be used for playing, relaxing, movie watching, nap taking, you know all that good stuff. we are drywalling the walls and ceiling and adding carpet. we also would like to create some built in shelves for the tv and other storage in the nook area.
we are also building a wall and door between the family room and the storage room. also we are adding a door between the family room and my craft room. the blue lines above indicate where we plan to add a wall and doors...except the real walls and doors will be straight. not all wobbly.
and carpeting the stairs down to the basement. woohoo!

we are very excited to have another space for our family to use in our home.
