1. i have the biggest urge to totally organize and rearrange all the things. like clean out cabinets, redecorate walls, rearrange furniture...you get where i am going here. post baby nesting anyone? problem is i really don't have the time or energy to actually act on this urge.
2. maggie walked around last night with two sets of binoculars and a twisty straw saying "i am lookin for clues!"
3. the big girls are loving the snow. they could play and play and play out there.
4. we are settling into a pretty good routine around our house. baby jake is a pretty darn good sleeper. i don't want to jinx anything but he is sleeping through the night. now that i said it he won't tonight :) sometimes he likes to stay up til midnight or so. which gives momma a run for her money.
5. one morning when we were scurrying around to get the big girls ready for school after we overslept by 20 minutes or so ellie says "we have never overslept before and lately we have overslept three times!" she couldn't figure out why that was happening now. i said the reason is jacob. she doesn't even realize we are tired parents of a new baby. we must be doing ok. :)
6. maggie has been going to daycare a few days a week. its great having her home with me and feels really strange when she is gone. however, on the days she goes to daycare being able to take a nap whenever is pretty nice. we have watched a few movies. her favorites are frozen and finding nemo.
7. jake has grown out of newborn clothes. he is now wearing 0-3 months. i was looking through jake's closet the other day and realized i have a lot of 0-3 months clothes. but not so much after that. i am going to have to do some shopping for our little dude. i can totally handle that.
8. miss cece turned seven yesterday and we totally surprised her with a new bike. she had not asked for one. but she totally needed a new one. we had it in the living room when she got home. she was so surprised and happy. it was so fun. it was also really neat how excited her sisters were for her. everyone is pumped for the new bike. i would say it was a big success!
9. ellie is playing volleyball right now. it calls for a couple of practices during the week. tournaments and practice on the weekends. it's a little overwhelming with a newborn. i am so lucky to have such good mom friends. they have helped me out a ton giving ellie rides to and from practice. we also set up a sweet car pool. instead of running three times a week to drop off and pick up. i pick up once. yes once. i was worried about all of this and how we would make it work. this has definitely been an answer to a prayer. i am so very thankful.
10. whats for dinner at your house? i am going to put together some egg bake (some would call this breakfast casserole) this morning for dinner tonight. i feel like i have time to in the morning to do things but our evenings are filled with feedings, homework, baths, feedings, etc. so meal making doesn't happen. i have put my crockpot to work and try to get things figured out in the morning for the evening. it's funny how you just have to keep feeding these children.
