random sunday stuff.

is is quiet.

jake is napping.

the girls are playing in the basement.

and even though it is super cold outside the sun is shining.

here is what has been going on at our house.....

1. 2016 started with a bang for us. cece, ellie and i woke up new years day with the stomach flu. literally we all started puking within minutes of each other. total pukefest. luckily tim was actually home when this happened. he had to go to work for bit, but was able to get someone to cover for him so he could come home and take care of us. we were in bad shape. the worst part....we are still recovering. stomachs are good.....we are just exhausted. cece in particular has had a really hard time getting caught up. poor girl is t.i.r.e.d.

2. the kids got some really fun new toys for christmas. maggie struck gold....she loves her new toys AND jake's new toys. lucky girl!

3. feels like winter around here. we got some snow. and super cold temps. so we are doing our normal winter things. movie watching. game playing. games especially are big right now. we got quite a few new fun games for christmas. tim and i love playing games, so it is super fun that the girls love playing them too. we play them a lot during and after dinner. our new favorites are uno moo and blokus. yesterday we gave five crowns and slamwich a try. those our good ones! ellie likes to play cantan....we don't have that one....but uncle noah does. the whole family enjoys that one. also we have played quite a few hands of the ole classic spoons.

4. we are in the midst of a stretch of a ton of travel for tim. just have to take it a day at a time. the days/nights when he is gone can get sooooo long. we are doing ok. plus i have a few tricks up my sleeve. oh and see #3 above.

5. jake is keeping us on our toes. we have to keep gates to the stairs closed and bathroom doors shut or the boy gets into a little trouble.

6. we celebrated his birthday last week. i think the girls had more fun celebrating jake than jake had celebrating. they do love their little brother.

7. ellie had her best basketball game so far this season! 11 points and 9 rebounds. she works hard and doesn't give up. i kind of like her a lot.

8. we--ellie actually--found this new little menu board in the target dollar spot--it was $3 though...hmmm. anyway, cece has taken to keep up on our menu. she like to make our meals sound more exciting. for instance, instead of tacos....she calls it taco awesomeness. sound better to me. she makes meal planning a lot more fun!
