ahhhhhh summer

1. the girls and i have a rule....we cannot drive past Sonic during happy hour (2-4pm) without stopping in for slushies. nothing completes a pool day better than a slush.

 don't worry this picture was taken in our garage NOT while i was driving...do you really think law enforcement officer ellie would let that happen?

2. last night i tired out a new recipe for slowcooker mac-n-cheese and i just have to share! my family really, really liked it. it is more of a casserole type than a cheese sauce type. next time we are going to throw in some mustard to add a little zip.

Slowcooker Mac-n-Cheese Recipe (from Busy Woman's Slow Cooker Cookbook)
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1 cup milk
4 cups cooked macaroni
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter

In slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Mix well.
Cover. Cook on low 3 to 4 hours OR on high for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

3. scavenger hunt
last night ellie and the neighbor kids completed not one or two but five scavenger hunts. kept them entertained for over an hour! and they had a lot of fun!

my solution for the pile of treasures they brought us.....their final task: put everything away! brilliant, I know! ;)

4. for ellie's birthday cece got her a water sprayer thingy. ellie really liked them, but cece likes them more. all she needs is a bucket of water and that thingy and she is in heaven and lethal.....
