embellished onesies

miss maggie had a few white onesies just begging to be made special. so yesterday {on my snow day} i decided to spice them up for my little sweetie. i had three ideas: a heart, an arrow, and some bunting.

i quickly rounded up my supplies:
  • onesies
  • fabric
  • heart sequin iron-on transfer (i found this in my supplies last week while i was looking for something else. i thought it would perfect for little sister!)
  • scissors
  • pins
  • sewing machine
  • iron
  • ironing bard
heart. this one was simple. i followed the directions on the package to apply the iron on patch. easy peasy. and oh so cute!

arrow. i sketched out what i wanted the arrow to look like and then lightly drew on the back of the fabric. i cut it out.

then i simply straight stitched it on.

now i know it is not perfect....but i like it that way.

bunting. oh bunting how i love thee. you just make me happy. for the bunting i pulled some fabric scraps from my stash.

i started cutting some penant shapes.

once i felt i had enough i started to arrange them on the onesie.

then i ate a few pieces of chocolate. it took a little fanagling to get them just right. once i was happy with them i pinned each one in place.

i began to sew them on. i went slow and it took a little time. i ate some more chocolate. chocolate helps with sewing you know.

it is not perfect, but i don't think it needs to be perfect to be cute! i am pleased with how it turned out!

and in about an hour i had three new onesies for miss maggie. always fun to have something new for her to wear...especially when i was able to embellish all three onesies with things i already had on hand.

enjoy ya'll!
