For our annual Spring Break trip, we decided to lay low and take in the sights of Des Moines. On trip started Thursday night cheering on our Cyclones to a First Round win in the NCAA tournament. Great game boys! Then Friday morning we took off for some shopping and a great meal at Joe's Crab Shack. With the 80 degree weather we felt like we were Spring Breaking in Arizona. Friday evening we checked into our hotel in downtown Des Moines and enjoyed some pool time...definitely the highlight of the trip for the girls.
Saturday morning we went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade. The girls had a good time grabbing candy and collecting green beads.
Nana got pinched by a couple little girls because she didn't have green on. We grabbed her some beads so she was safe.
Saturday afternoon we ate at Spaghetti Works. The girls L-O-V-E-D the salad bar. Ellie made three trips!
We headed back to the hotel for some more swimming and cheering on the Cyclones.
Sunday morning we checked out and headed home. It was a fun and relaxing weekend together, just what we wanted!
