a magpie birthday

on Saturday we started Miss Maggie's birthday week by celebrating her first birthday with a par-tay.

my plan for her party was to keep things sweet and simple. like her.

so we went with a 'magpie' party.

you know what a magpie is right? it is a bird that squawks. which is perfect because Maggie is our little birdie who squawks jabbers A LOT. who has made her presence know by her squeaks and squeals since the day she was born. now a real magpie is kinda well...ugly. so we went for the cuter variety.

so what exactly is a magpie party? well it is a party that combines some sweet little birdies and you guessed it pie. homemade pie to be exact. and I think we have stumbled upon a new tradition. pie in august is perfection. we added a few dainty decorations and we were ready to celebrate our sweet girl.

her big sisters were over-the-top excited to celebrate her birthday. they could not wait for her to open her presents.

her big sister were so excited for the cake smash....not quite sure she lived up to their expectations. maybe we can give it another try this weekend:)

 

miss maggie's actual birthday is on Friday. I am certain we will celebrate her some more.
